We're good to go, I think.

My Solution is now cut to an amazing three minutes and fifty-eight seconds. It took a lot of cutting, and those of you who know this song by heart will be quite lost by the end. Suffice to say, I had to amend some of the last part quite a bit, and cut the nifty little guitar bits before every verse, and the song is significantly sped up. But it's still the song. And the singing on the chori (plural for "chorus", of course) should be to all of your liking, you get to see me making sweet love to the mic.

Back to practicing, goodbye for now.

Well, in the middle of practice right now...the first bass shorted out. So Tyler's going back to his pad to get another, and he'll be back in a second.

Wish us luck, and keep it bitter.

Ok, one more today.

Stranglebox is having it's first whole group meeting this Friday, and I'll finally be singing to My Solution miked! And then it's tryouts on Monday, and if we can hit that four minute mark, then I'll be expecting all of you at Brentwood High School in Brentwood, Tennesee, on March 20 for the talent show! Come see us OWN! Well, we're not expecting to really get anything glorious, but hey, it's our first live show ever. Make some history and come see us play live!

ALEX POSTED, WOOHOO! There he is, our drummer-at-large.

CURRENT DATES
If not the 20th, then I don't know...be expecting more updates later on this section.

Hey...
Still needing that lead guitarist. stranglebox@yahoo.com for a possible job offer.

Keep it bitter.

Hello again all, welcome to Stranglebox. Well, after a few days of long-planning, we worked out the kinks in our scheduling and band. We have Tyler Schaub signed on as a tryout bassist for now.

Also, the show on the 20th is going to be a cut and faster version of My Solution so as to fulfill the four minute time limit, which has taken quite a bit of effort as we have been trying to figure out exactly what parts to cut.

CURRENT DATES
Be looking out for a date on the 20th at BHS if we nail it.

Hey...
Lead, please. stranglebox@yahoo.com

Keep it bitter, friends.

Hello everyone, updating from school, violating the whole "let's not do message boards because they degrade our youth" rule. SCREW IT. Alex never got on, but he will quite soon, I believe. Most of the meat and potatoes of this post are below.

CURRENT DATES
We might nail the talent show pretty soon, which would be on the 20th, check back this Monday for info.

Hey...
It's too late now, but we'll still need that Nashville based lead guitar. Remember, since I wrote all the parts, you don't have to be godly, you just have to play. That's really all we're looking for, a complete set. So drop us a line at stranglebox@yahoo.com to try for the job (and believe me, we really aren't too picky).

Keep it bitter.

What a happy little site we have now. Stranglebox's drummer Alex Blonder is now on board as an admin for our wonderfully awesome site. Drop him a line at the band's mailbox, stranglebox@yahoo.com.

CURRENT DATES
Still nothing, check back later.

Hey...
Still needing those leads. For those of you who live in Tennesee in the Nashville/Brentwood/Franklin area and play that ol' guitar, drop us a line at stranglebox@yahoo.com.

That's all for now. Keep it bitter, all.

Hello everyone, welcome to the embittered web kingdom of Stranglebox.

We are a Nashville alternative band, blended with the divine and grunging souls of Metallica, Alice in Chains, and (at least, to me) Rotting Christ in our musical work and pure, unadulterated mental devastation in our lyrics, a steady outpouring of some unknown force that has come to grip us since our creation.

Stranglebox was formed off of several good ideas, one of which was called My Solution, a "nice lil' suicide anthem" I had written at a time when life was forcing me down the downward spiral for a while there, and several more along with it. At birth, the name of our band was Bitter, but the name was quickly outcasted as better befitting an album, and thus it came to be, as the name of our first and, of yet, unreleased album, Bitter. Ranging from pounding metal beats to haunting melodical guitar and vocal work to the grand finale, the acoustic piece entitled Goodbye My Friend, Bitter is a testament to the demise of innocence by the passage of time in that wonderful period of angstful teenhood.

The second name of the band was Hellshined, but was quickly dimissed to a song name as for its very slack leash on interpretation: the very name could make one turn their head at our material and wave the album off as nothing more than satanic drivel. Never mind artisticism: we're out to get rich as much as the next guy, and the name Hellshined doesn't ever sell enough records. As for the song Hellshined...we'll see...I like it, but then again I have some great bias...

The name Stranglebox came partly from a dream where I saw a BLog much like this one playing a video of one of our concerts, and seeing a caption at the bottom, "These guys are the best I've ever seen!", and our future name below it, although I forgot it as I woke up. Later on in the day, it came back...what a trip. For now we settle for this name, but if it's gone in a few months for a name change, sorry!

CURRENT DATES
None so far, we may have Café Express in downtown Nashville booked in early May, stay tuned for updates.

Hey...
We need a lead guitarist something fierce. If you can play and would somehow be willing to drive to Brentwood for practices, send us an email at stranglebox@yahoo.com. The bass job is being auditioned at the moment by three possible applicants, so more on that later if they all bomb out :)

And...
To commemorate the first edition of the Stranglebox Domain, the tracklist to Bitter...

I. All Fall Down
II. Rage
III. These Chains
IV. After Memory Has Faded
V. Bitter
VI. Hang My Head
VII. Little Rhyme
VIII. Faith In Nothing
IX. My Solution
X. Goodbye My Friend

And that's it for now folks, be expecting the BloggerPro edition soon, where we can go into a little detail on this dust and shadow, name-only band.

Keep it bitter.
